Biographical Statement

Kersten Toebben is a recent graduate of Clayton State’s master of Archival Studies program and a Certified Archivist with the ACA. She received her BA in History with extra courses in Public History from CSU. As an undergrad, she served as the student chair for the school’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. Kersten is currently employed at the Georgia Archives as an archives technician and has worked there continuously since 2018. She also attended the Georgia Archives Institute in 2021.

Candidate Statement

As a recently certified archivist, I am eager to expand my professional development and get more engaged with the SGA. While I have limited direct experience with digital archiving, I believe my education at CSU has prepared me to preserve and provide access to the SGA’s born digital records using the LOCKSS method. My current place of employment also gives me the advantage of proximity to the SGA’s paper records that will require digitization.
