Lead Archivist for Special Collections Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library Biographical Statement Jasmaine Talley is the Lead Archivist for Special Collections at the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library). She graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor's degree in history in 2012 and from Louisiana State University with master's degree in library and information Science in 2015. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to preserving and providing access to archival materials from underrepresented groups and populations traditionally excluded. Her passion is uplifting the collections that document the experience of African Americans and the Black Diaspora. Candidate Statement My name is Jasmaine Talley, and I am running for the position of Archivist to promote and support SGA’s core values of community, leadership, diversity, lifelong learning, and sustainability through the preservation of SGA’s records both physical and born digital. As SGA works on behalf of Georgia’s archives and archivists, these records provide accountability and transparency to organization membership and beyond. These records also support the regular operations of SGA. As the Archivist. I am committed to the duties of this position including the regular attendance of executive meetings, maintenance of the records retention schedule, further developing SGA’s digital preservation plan, and identifying past SGA records to digitize to increase access to those records.
