Biographical Statement


Robin Klemm holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on the intersection of history and modern technology, from the University of North Alabama. She recently earned her Master of Library and Information Studies degree (with a concentration is Archival Studies) from the University of Alabama. During her academic journey, she developed a profound interest in the intersection of archives, contemporary technology, and outreach practices. Over the past year, Robin completed internships at prestigious institutions such as the Rome Area History Center and NASA's archives, which furthered her passion for the preservation and dissemination of historical materials. Motivated to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and archival outreach, Robin has recently assumed the role of Outreach Archivist at the Georgia Archives. In this capacity, she aspires to capitalize on her scholarly pursuits to advance and increase accessibility to the valuable archival holdings within the Georgia Archives and to support the archival field by highlighting new advancements and promoting diversity within the profession.


Candidate Statement


I am excited to present my candidacy for Nominating Committee member for the Society of Georgia Archivists Board. As Outreach Archivist at the Georgia Archives, my passion for the field and its values uniquely position me to contribute to the society's mission and core values. Dedicated to nurturing the archival community, I connect archivists, professionals, and researchers through collaboration and advocacy. In my current position, I actively promote diversity within the field, amplifying voices and perspectives in collections. My role also supports educational initiatives and lifelong learning. Engaged with innovative archival practices and scholarly research, I can identify leaders who drive SGA's mission of advancing research and innovation. Additionally, sustainability is a subject that is dear to me. Because my role in the archival profession equips me to advocate for sustainable initiatives and responsible leadership, I will identify leaders showcasing a strong dedication to sustainable practices. My Outreach Archivist role aligns seamlessly with SGA's mission and values. Elected to the Nominating Committee, I will leverage my expertise to identify leaders who share the same dedication for community-building, professional development, and collective achievement that will contribute to a brighter archival future in Georgia.
