Kendall Barksdale Senior Digitization Technician for The HBCU Digital Library Trust Initiative The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library Biographical Statement I am Kendall Barksdale from Harlem, New York. I am the Senior Digitization Technician for the HBCU Digital Library Trust Initiative at the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library. I earned a Bachelors of Science in English from Clark Atlanta University and a Masters in Education from Fordham University. I taught Middle School English for four years in the Bronx, New York and High School College and Career Counseling for four years in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2021, I switched careers from being a teacher to a Digitization Technician Assistant at the AUC Woodruff Library where I was one of two people who digitized the Joseph Echols and Evelyn Gibson Lowery Collection. Currently, I am working on earning my Masters in Archival Science from Clayton State University and have the honor of digitizing and making HBCU Collections globally accessible and discoverable.Candidate Statement | Slate of Candidates
