Tour of UGA’s new archival facility

  • 25 Jun 2012
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Athens, GA
The SGA Membership Committee is pleased to offer a tour of the University of Georgia’s new archival facility. The Russell Building houses the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection, and the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies.

Join us for a tour of UGA’s state of the art storage, work spaces, reading rooms, reference area, classrooms, media archives space and digitization labs, and gallery. The building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified, recognizing the implementation of practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations, and maintenance solutions.

The tour will take place on Monday, June 25th from 1pm to 3pm. Registration is limited to fifteen SGA members. Please RSVP to me (lstoudt@georgiahistory.com) by June 20th. Participants will receive important parking and logistical information in a follow-up email.
