Fall Workshop:

Basic Encoded Archival Description

Instructor: Lara Nicosia, Liberal Arts Librarian, Rochester Institute of Technology

Brief description: Encoded Archival Description is rapidly becoming the standard for creating finding aids. While there are many nuances and styles, many new and veteran archivists need a basic and hands-on EAD introduction.

This workshop will define EAD and its component parts, introduce markup language, and allow participants to create a functional EAD finding aid. Participants should bring a flash drive.

SGA offers the workshop at a cost of $75.00 for members, $85.00 for non-members, and $65.00 for students. Registration includes lunch as well as morning and afternoon beverage breaks. Because of the hands-on nature of the instruction, space is limited to 20 participants.

Date: Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011
Time: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Clayton State University, Morrow, Georgia

Please contact Michael Law with questions; voice: 706-614-4940, email: lawm@uga.edu

Mail-in registration is also available using the registration form available on the SGA Continuing Education and Workshops page. Online registration is encouraged.

THE WORKSHOP IS FULL--REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER.
