HERA’s Spring Program

  • 25 Apr 2012
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Atlanta, GA
Please join us for HERA’s Spring program, Wednesday April 25th, 2:00 – 4:00 during the 2012 ALA-sponsored Preservation Week.

Katy Malone of ArtsReady.org will speak about the ARTSREADY program: a web-based emergency preparedness platform designed to provide arts and cultural organizations with customized business continuity plans for post crisis sustainability. Readiness planning is important to protect community and cultural assets, and to be able to get up and running after crisis.  ArtsReady is a national initiative of South Arts, a non-profit regional arts organization.

We will also have a discussion about the various types of fire suppression systems that are in common usage in cultural and heritage institutions. Chris Paton of Columbia Theological Seminary Library will elaborate on the recent “deployment” of an FM-200 system, Christine Wiseman and Tina Seetoo of the Georgia Archives will discuss wet pipe systems, and Ann Frellsen of Emory University Libraries will give a brief overview of the Ansul Sapphire system.

The meeting will be held in the Jones Room, R.W. Woodruff Library, Emory University. Closest visitor parking is in Fishburne Deck. Directions to Emory University
