Margery N. Sly became Director of the Special Collections at Temple University Libraries, Philadelphia, PA, in December 2010, to lead the merger of the collections and staff within the Urban Archives and Special Collections departments

Margery joined Temple after a dozen years at the national archives of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in Philadelphia where she was Deputy Executive Director. Margery was College Archivist and Coordinator of Special Collections at Smith College Libraries from 1987 to 1997 and a member of the library faculty at Clemson University from 1982 to 1987.

Margery is a graduate of Dickinson College with a B.A. in history and German Literature and holds a Master of Arts degree in History and a Master of Science degree in Library Science with an Archival Administration emphasis from Case Western Reserve University. A member of several regional professional organizations, Margery has been an SGA member since 1982, served as Associate Editor and Editor of Provenance from 1984 to 1994, and was named a Fellow in 2009. Margery is a Certified Archivist, serving two two-year terms as Treasurer of the Academy of Certified Archivists and as President in 2013. She was a member of the Council of the Society of American Archivists from 2007 to 2009 and is a Fellow of SAA.
